Rooftops, lounges and cocktail bars in Conakry

In Conakry, the best moment of the day is often the hour before nightfall: the heat eases, the ocean catches fire and the terraces fill up. Here is where to take in the view, cocktail in hand.

A city made for terraces

Stretched along a peninsula, Conakry offers a sea horizon almost everywhere. Venues have caught on: hotel top floors, the residential towers of Koloma and the edges of the north corniche now host lounges for an aperitif, a light dinner or an evening that runs late. The mood ranges from hushed salon to DJ-driven rooftop.

We picked eight addresses that are active and documented in 2025–2026. They are spread between Kaloum, the north corniche (Camayenne, Dixinn, Rogbané) and the Kipé–Koloma area. Think about pairing them with dinner: several are restaurants too.

The crowd mirrors the city: young Guinean professionals, executives on business trips, diaspora families on holiday, couples celebrating a birthday. On weekdays, hotel bars mostly host after-work drinks and business meetings; from Thursday to Saturday, the corniche rooftops turn up the volume and evenings run well past midnight. Sunday is more about long, lazy family afternoons around a pool, with fresh juices for the children and a light meal as the heat fades.

The highest views

Lounge 27Koloma (Ratoma), Kakimbo residence

On the 27th floor of the Kakimbo residence’s East tower, this lounge looks out over the whole city, from Kaloum to Kipé. The menu runs from fruit cocktails and smoothies to classics such as the mojito, plus Guinean cocktails, whiskies and wines. Food is served too, including a dish of the day. Open daily from morning until 11 pm, according to Petit Futé.

Siete, Riviera Royal HotelKaloum (Tombo)

On the Riviera Royal’s roof, Siete is first a pan-Asian restaurant, but guests regularly praise its cocktails. Arrive before sunset to watch the light slide across the Atlantic, then stay for sushi. Open Tuesday to Sunday, in the evening.

Rooftop H2 Lounge, Maï HôtelColéah corniche

On the 7th floor of the Maï Hôtel, on the Coléah corniche, the H2 Lounge goes for an intimate mood lulled by the sound of the waves. At weekends, DJs take over and the night changes tempo.

The north corniche, almost on the water

La CroisièreDixinn, corniche (interchange)

Designed like the upper deck of a liner, this ocean-facing rooftop combines restaurant, bar and lounge. House cocktails, selected wines, seafood and dishes with local spices make up the menu. It opens in the late afternoon and closes late, until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays.

Ocean’s LoungeRogbané beach (Taouyah)

A large terrace with an open view over Rogbané beach, homemade tapas (mini burgers, calamari, prawn bites) and a list of cocktails with or without alcohol. The lounge opens Thursday to Saturday from 6 pm and comes alive at night.

La Terrasse, Palm CamayenneCamayenne (Dixinn), north corniche

On the hotel’s first floor, on the vast terrace of Le Baobab fine-dining restaurant, this lounge bar overlooks the pool, the garden and the Atlantic. Open from noon to 11 pm, it is a calm address, ideal for a business meeting or a quiet drink.

To move from sunset to dinner without long drives, Diatigui offers furnished apartments in Conakry, notably in Kaloum, Camayenne and Kipé, a few minutes from these terraces.

Infinity pools and hotel bars

Pool Bar and Lounge Bar, Noom HotelKaloum

At the Noom, the Pool Bar edges an infinity pool that seems to melt into the ocean; fresh cocktails are served from 3 pm to 11 pm, sometimes to live jazz. Inside, the Lounge Bar, with its sofas and armchairs, hosts a weekly after-work.

Pool Bar, Radisson BluKipé (Centre émetteur), north corniche

The Radisson Blu faces the ocean on the north corniche. Its pool bar, beside an infinity pool, is a pleasant stop for a cocktail and a few bites as the sun goes down.

Golden hour

The sun sets around 7 pm all year in Conakry. Arrive around 6 pm to choose a seat on the edge of the terrace, especially on Thursdays and at weekends. In the rainy season (May to October), keep a covered option in mind: showers often fall late in the day.

Etiquette and good habits

  • Smart-casual dress: hotel rooftops appreciate a polished look.
  • Alcohol-free menus are available almost everywhere: bissap, ginger and fruit cocktails.
  • Book for a group, or for a table with a view, on Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Carry Guinean francs: not every venue takes cards, and power cuts can knock card terminals offline for a while.
  • Ask about the evening’s programme when booking: DJ nights, live music and after-works change from week to week.
  • Head home with a driver booked in advance rather than a random taxi after midnight.

Your choice depends on the evening’s mood: the dizzying view from Lounge 27, the sea breeze at La Croisière or Ocean’s Lounge, or the hushed comfort of a hotel bar in Kaloum. Either way, the Atlantic plays the lead role, and it rarely disappoints. Many visitors end up with a favourite they return to every evening of their stay — the staff will soon remember your usual order, and the view never quite looks the same twice.
