Conakry nightlife: clubs, lounges and live music
Conakry stays up late, especially from Thursday to Saturday. Between plush clubs, seaside terraces and live music stages, here is a tour of reliable places to go out, with a few simple rules to enjoy them with peace of mind.

The rhythm of Conakry nights
Evenings rarely start before 9 pm. First a drink on a terrace or rooftop, then dinner, and the clubs fill up after midnight, closing at dawn at weekends. The soundtrack ranges from Afro beats and coupé-décalé to international hits, and live music — griots, bands, jazz — still holds a special place in the city.
Two hubs concentrate most of the action: Kaloum, with its hotels and air-conditioned bars, often the starting point of the night, and the Kipé–north corniche corridor, livelier at weekends. We chose established venues documented in 2025–2026, favouring well-run places.
The clubs
Le BaronKaloum, Riviera Royal Hotel
Inside the Riviera Royal complex, Le Baron is one of the city’s most sought-after clubs, with resident DJs. On Thursdays an after-work runs from 6 pm to 11 pm; on Fridays and Saturdays the club opens from 11 pm to 6 am. Booking required; entry is free but you are expected to order drinks. Elegant crowd, smart dress expected.
Geneva Night ClubKipé (Centre émetteur)
Opposite Kipé high school, this club is among the city’s most talked-about nightspots. DJs blend international hits with local sounds for a mixed crowd, and the night runs until early morning.
Rooftops and lounges that turn up the volume
Rooftop H2 Lounge, Maï HôtelColéah corniche
On the 7th floor of the Maï Hôtel, this sea-facing rooftop hosts DJs at weekends. A good place to start the evening to the sound of the waves before the tempo rises.
Ocean’s LoungeRogbané beach (Taouyah)
Open Thursday to Saturday from 6 pm to 2 am, this beachfront lounge offers tapas, cocktails and a musical mood that builds through the night.
La CroisièreDixinn, corniche
This rooftop styled like a liner’s deck stays open until 2 am on Fridays and Saturdays. House cocktails, selected wines and evenings under the stars make it a good middle ground between dinner and a night out.
Getting home in minutes after a night out changes everything: Diatigui offers furnished apartments in Conakry, in Kaloum, Camayenne or Kipé, close to the nightlife.
Live music
Franco-Guinean Cultural Centre (CCFG)Kaloum, opposite the Jardin du 2-Octobre
With its 300-seat hall, the CCFG programmes concerts, shows and screenings. Singer Foudis Diallo performed there in March 2026, and a free café-concert regularly livens up Wednesday evenings. The programme is posted on the centre’s social media.
L’AquariumKaloum, south corniche (Tombo)
This sea-facing restaurant hosts live music at weekends. Have a relaxed dinner, then let the evening carry on out on the terrace.
KAKI Restaurant & BrasserieKoloma (Ratoma)
On Fridays, KAKI hosts a live night, booking required: dinner and music in an elegant setting at the foot of the Kakimbo towers.
Pool Bar, Noom HotelKaloum
By the Noom’s infinity pool, cocktails are sometimes served to live jazz, until 11 pm. The gentlest option for an evening as a couple.
Getting home safely
Plan your ride home before you go out: a trusted driver booked for the evening beats a taxi hailed after midnight, and avoid motorbike taxis, which are involved in many accidents. Do not walk alone on poorly lit streets, keep valuables out of sight and, in informal venues, choose drinks served capped.
Putting your evening together
- As a couple: sunset at the Noom’s Pool Bar, dinner on a Kaloum rooftop, then a quiet last drink.
- With friends: aperitif at La Croisière or Ocean’s Lounge, then on to a Kipé club or Le Baron after midnight.
- For culture: a concert at the CCFG, then dinner at a Kaloum address a few minutes away.
- In a small group: a Friday live night at KAKI, with dinner and music under one roof.
The calendar matters too. During the month of Ramadan, nightlife becomes more discreet and many venues adjust their hours, while the end-of-year season and the summer holidays, when the diaspora comes home, are the most festive times of the year. Big concerts and special nights are usually announced a few days ahead on social media, so follow the accounts of the venues that interest you to stay in the loop. Prices in hotel clubs and rooftops are close to international standards, while neighbourhood bars remain far more affordable; whichever you choose, keep some cash on hand, as card terminals are not universal and can be affected by power cuts. Above all, go at your own pace: Conakry’s nights reward curiosity, and the warmest welcome is often found where you least expect it.
Good habits
- Carry a copy of your ID and a charged phone.
- If the power goes out, stay where you are until things settle.
- Smart dress is expected in hotel clubs; some apply a door policy.
- Guinea values discretion: keep behaviour and dress measured in public spaces.
- Check your country’s travel advice before you leave, especially during periods of demonstrations.
With a little planning, Conakry’s nights are easy to enjoy: a drink facing the ocean, a concert at the CCFG or a dance floor until dawn. Everyone finds their own tempo.
