WCAF (West and Central Africa Forum) is the business gathering that connects the United Kingdom with French-speaking countries of West and Central Africa. Organised by DMA Invest with UK Export Finance, the UK's export credit agency, it comes to Conakry for its 5th edition, co-hosted by the Guinean government and the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation. Its theme, "From cooperation to transformation: building the future of development in Africa", ties in with the Simandou 2040 programme.

The forum brings together policymakers, investors, financial institutions and British and African companies. Organisers expect delegations from more than 42 countries, covering sixteen francophone nations plus Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea. According to the British ambassador to Guinea, choosing Conakry reflects the country's growing weight in the region's economic and commercial strategies.

For visitors: the event runs over two days at a busy time for Conakry's hotels, with several major gatherings following in November. Booking accommodation early is recommended. A furnished apartment lets you work quietly between sessions, host partners and extend your stay for business meetings on the sidelines of the forum.
