Conakry International Youth Book Fair (SILJC) – 10th edition
From 4 to 7 November 2026, the fair celebrates its tenth anniversary at the Franco-Guinean Cultural Centre, with Dakar as guest city of honour.

Launched in November 2017 and run by Éditions Ganndal, a pioneering Guinean publisher of children's books, the Conakry International Youth Book Fair (SILJC) celebrates its 10th edition in 2026. Dakar is the guest city of honour.
The fair is a professional platform for authors, illustrators, publishers, librarians and cultural players in African children's literature. The announced programme includes the African Meetings on Youth Books and Reading (RALEC), official launches of new titles, writing and documentary illustration workshops, and "Le duel des livres", an inter-school reading competition.
Activities take place at the Franco-Guinean Cultural Centre (CCFG), at the entrance to Kaloum near the 8 November bridge, and in youth centres of partner municipalities. It is a chance for book professionals from across the region, and for families visiting Conakry, to discover Guinean and African publishing.
For visitors: a furnished apartment in Kaloum or Camayenne puts the CCFG within minutes, making it easy to follow the programme over several days without long commutes.
