Guinea was chosen to host the 5th Africa Minifootball Cup of Nations, organised by the African Minifootball Confederation with the Guinean Minifootball Federation. For the first time, 24 national teams have qualified, split into six groups of four. The draw took place in Conakry in July 2026: Guinea is in Group A with Cameroon, Tanzania and Benin. Senegal, Libya, Ghana, Mauritania and Côte d'Ivoire were among the seeded teams.

According to confederation president Achraf Ben Salha, around 700 players and thousands of spectators are expected, and "the eyes of Africa and the whole world will be on the Guinean capital" for several weeks. Conakry is also set to host the confederation's headquarters and hopes to stage the Minifootball World Cup in 2029.

Exact dates differ between sources (9–23 January according to an April 2026 announcement, kick-off on 25 January according to another from August 2026): check with the organisers.

For visitors: delegations, staff, journalists and fans need accommodation for several weeks; a furnished apartment with a kitchen and living space suits long stays and groups.
