What actually drives the price
For the same vehicle, four parameters explain most of the gap between two quotes:
- commitment length: monthly, the implied daily rate falls 30 to 45%;
- leaving Conakry: an up-country mission adds mileage, the driver's per diem and accommodation — 25 to 40% more per day;
- daily hours: beyond ten hours, overtime is billed;
- fuel: actual against receipts, or a fixed allowance to simplify accounting — a choice, not a surprise.
Monthly rental: the real tipping point
Beyond ten to twelve days of use in a month, daily rental becomes the wrong arithmetic. Monthly assignment starts at about $1,745 for a sedan and $3,250 for a 4x4, with the same driver every day and a single invoice at month end.
It is the format most of our institutional clients choose, as much for the administrative simplicity as for the cost.
Why our prices always include a driver
Lower rates exist on the Guinean market for self-drive. We do not offer it, and that is not a commercial stance: road conditions outside Conakry, checkpoints, unreliable signage and international organizations' security procedures make self-driving unsuitable for almost all our clients.
So compare like for like: a self-drive rate is not comparable to ours, and the real cost of an incident 300 km from Conakry far exceeds the price difference.
